My daughter requires Teir 3 Intervention on a regular basis, due to diagnosed Learning Difficulties. I enrolled my son in Sounds-Write at Shine Learning in mid 2023. He was just 5 years old and we wanted him to be school-ready. He has learning fundamental skills such as pencil grip, hand writing technique, the sounds of the alphabet and blending simple words. He can ready accurately, without guessing and can even write notes to his big brother! We have decided to stay at Shine Learning for his Foundation Year, so that his confidence and literacy skills will be all sorted!

In mid 2022 - our then 13 year old son commenced English tutoring with Shine in response to our surprise and concern when he got E+ as his mid year grade for Year 8 English. We knew he was capable of a much stronger academic performance and weren't sure what to do. We moved to Ballarat from Melbourne in late 2020 and he had done most of Year 6 from home due to COVID. Miranda started tutoring him and quickly ascertained he had missed some fundamental building blocks of how to structure and analyse written text, develop a narrative and apply various writing styles. Miranda met our son where he was at and developed content and an approach which appealed to his interests. Miranda worked on the basics with him, then he moved across to Violet at Shine who he has been having weekly English classes with for a year now. We are delighted to share that in twelve months his mid year grade for English has gone from E+ to A! As we were experiencing such positive results from English tutoring we also added weekly Maths classes with Tom at Shine which have seen our son maintain A's and B's in Year 8 and Year 9 Maths. We appreciate the expert instruction and nurturing, consistent and persuasive approach from all Educators at Shine - thank you!
